Description

Newells Meadow - Bought with donations from some of Orpington's residents including Henry Brown, to provide more burial spaces when the current churchyard became full. There is a cremation garden to the left of the entrance. There are remembrance plaques lining some of the paths. .............. The Canadian Corner is built in the far right corner for the Soldiers who were killed in both wars. Originally named the Ontario Cemetery after the Hospital which used to be in Orpington. There are 116 soldiers buried here, 88 Canadians, 23 British and 5 Australian. There are 70 more war graves here looked after by the CWWG from WW1 and 22 from WW2. ..................... The Churchyard is looked after by a team of local volunteers. There are burials from around 1900 to the present day. It is a nice location bordering the Priory Gardens on one side and All Saints Church on the other.
